Description

Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park is now a roughly ten-hectare park located in the Altenessen-Süd district of Essen. It was established in 1897 to celebrate Kaiser Wilhelm I's 100th birthday as the first public park in the Essen district and named after him. Created as part of worker welfare efforts, it was specifically designed for the recreation of residents in this heavily industrialized neighborhood.
