Description
Knappenwelt Gurgltal invites families to discover medieval mining life. At the center is the child-friendly guide Maxl, who greets you and introduces you to the stories.
In the vividly recreated Knappendorf, hands-on demonstrations show how miners worked and lived back then – ideal for kids to touch and try things out. The small museum Haus der Heilerin complements this with everyday and healing-practice details.
The site is pet-friendly and makes a good stop for cyclists and hikers; there is also an overnight option. Throughout the season there are regular family-friendly events and festivals.
