LWL-Römermuseum

The LWL-Römermuseum brings the life of legionnaires excitingly close to both adults and children with over 1,200 original Roman artifacts.

Here you experience history interactively: in the permanent exhibition, at the Aliso open-air construction site, and in the escape room, history becomes an adventure.

Family-friendly theme activity days like "Archaeologists Wanted!" on Open Monument Day or "Those Romans Are Crazy" are especially popular. During school holidays, children can earn a Roman diploma or get to know Roman gods.

Special tours and programs for children aged 5 and up, and families starting at 6 or 9 years bring a lot of exciting knowledge and play. For example, there is the Roman diploma activity for 8- to 12-year-olds during the autumn holidays.

Digital highlights like app explorations, augmented reality with dancing skeletons and a Germanic seer, and the escape room bring history to life. Birthday parties with special kids’ packages are also possible.
