Description
Welcome to the Michael-Otto-Institut im NABU in Bergenhusen – the heart of the stork village, where more than 20 pairs of white storks nest every year. In the interactive white stork exhibit, you’ll learn all about the life of these "lucky birds" and can look into a real stork’s nest via live video. The institute conducts conservation-focused research on endangered bird species in agricultural landscapes and the Wadden Sea. It also carries out studies on nature conservation and renewable energy. As part of its environmental education, the institute offers guided tours, children’s holiday days, and events to help you understand the importance of nature conservation. The idyllic village of Bergenhusen, with its thatched houses and unique river landscape, invites you to stay and relax. Visit us and experience how research and conservation come to life!
