Möhnesee

The Möhnesee is the largest reservoir in the Sauerland and is affectionately called the "Westphalian Sea". About 40 kilometers of shoreline invite you to soak up the sun, hike, bike, and enjoy various water sports.

The diverse nature around the lake offers wonderful experiences in every season: More than 200 kilometers of marked hiking trails run through the Arnsberger Forest Nature Park and the surrounding landscape – perfect for short walks as well as longer tours.

Cyclists get the most out of a well-planned "cycling by numbers" system with about 40 kilometers along the lakeshore. Additionally, the region offers a wide range of water sports for active visitors.

Various guided tours and day programs also provide exciting ways to discover the Möhnesee and its surroundings – from short excursions to full-day group programs, suitable for both public and private groups.
