Description
The Museum der Deutschen Spielzeugindustrie takes you on an exciting journey through the history of toy making – from home workshops to factory production. Especially fascinating is the international Trachtenpuppensammlung with around 800 exhibits from over 100 countries, including miniature costumes and dolls from Neustadt.
On the ground floor, you’ll find traditional crafts and professions, while the upper floor showcases artistic specialties – like doll head makers and hat makers. In the basement, the Christmas Workshop invites all ages to join in and marvel at fairy tale scenes and Max and Moritz.
Children aged 0 to 5 years can enjoy age-appropriate hands-on workshops – such as the Museumswichtel-Werkstatt for 3- to 5-year-olds or the Playtime for the Little Ones starting at 0 years.
Starting September 29, there’s the special exhibition “Käfer, Bulli Co – VW History to Experience”. In October and November, creative craft kits themed “Autumn is Here” and “The Universe” are available for self-activity – offered for a small fee and also available by mail order.
Especially family-friendly is the visit thanks to numerous hands-on activities and a lively event program, offering plenty for little explorers and their families 🧸🍂.
