Description

Museum im Schloss Elisabethenburg takes you on an exciting journey through more than 300 years of history, art, and music. The castle was once the residence of the Dukes of Meiningen and welcomed famous guests like Liszt, Brahms, and Queen Victoria.

At the theater museum, you'll find original stage sets, photos, and sketches from the renowned Meiningen theater tradition, shaped by the "Theater Duke" Georg II.

There are special highlights for families: children can take part in exhibition previews, join holiday programs with historic games centered around Princess Sophie, and create their own costumes in creative workshops.

A particular highlight is the Halloween lantern tours, offered especially for children aged 6 and up and their families – an exciting experience for both young and old! 🎭
