Description

Museum Weibersbrunn invites you to experience the exciting history of glassmaking! 🕰️ Here you can admire an impressive collection of historical glass products, all originating from the former Weibersbrunn glassworks.

Marvel at valuable round glass panes, known as “Mondglas”, which were once used for bullseye windows and gained fame as “Lohrer Glas”. A special highlight is the faithfully reconstructed model of the glassworks and settlement from around 1860, built according to original plans.

Learn how local glass production was once inspired by the French King Louis XIV and the opulent Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, when German princely courts sought to establish their own glass and mirror manufactories.
