Description

On June 22, 1906, the Naturbad Bad Elster opened as a light, air, and swimming bath, and in the following years, it was transformed into its current form by the Royal Saxon horticultural inspector Paul Schindel. In 1916, three separate bathing ponds were opened for men, women, and families.

Today, two of these beautiful bathing ponds still exist and, thanks to the commitment of a support association, are well maintained and cared for. Here, people of all ages are invited to swim, relax, or simply spend time.

Due to its idyllic location and unique historical character, this listed natural swimming pool in Bad Elster is considered a hidden gem and loved by visitors and locals of the spa town. Nature lovers especially appreciate the harmonious blend of peaceful resting areas and natural swimming opportunities.

A playground for children, as well as a brand-new water playground, provide extra fun for the youngest guests. Additionally, there is a barbecue area available for private use.

Excerpt from the rules of use:

Staying on the grounds and swimming are at your own risk.

There is a designated nudist area.

Bringing animals onto the grounds is not allowed.
