Description
Niddatal Volkspark covers 168 hectares, making it Frankfurt am Main's largest and most visited green space, and the city's second biggest green area after the Stadtwald forest. It’s named after the Nidda River, which flows through its northern part. Niddapark is a sprawling, natural riverside landscape. Locally, it’s also called the BUGA site in memory of the 1989 Federal Garden Show held here. The park and the show were both designed by landscape architect Norfried Pohl. Since 1991, Niddapark has been part of Frankfurt’s Green Belt.
