Niedwald

Niedwald is a forested area of about 60 hectares located in the western part of Frankfurt am Main in the German state of Hesse. Documented since the 13th century, the forest developed naturally as well as through reforestation of land previously used for agriculture. Niedwald lies on the orographically left, geographically southern bank of the Nidda River and is part of the Frankfurt greenbelt area. A section of the historic Antsanvia trade route runs through the forest.
