Description

Oberfeuer Preußeneck is a lovingly restored historic lighthouse with an additional middle platform that offers an improved view 🏖️.

In the former transformer station, there is a documentation center that provides fascinating insights into the history of the tower, sea marks, and the Jade Bight. Especially handy: a live camera on the tower roof allows you to enjoy the panoramic view from afar – perfect for anyone with a fear of heights.

Volunteer lighthouse keepers accompany visitors on tours through the tower and the documentation center. A special highlight is the harbor porpoise days in early May, when a national park ranger takes position on the lower platform to help you discover the rare porpoises and learn more about them 🐬.

The lighthouse adjusts its opening hours during harbor porpoise days to the tides and participates in the Butjadinger holiday pass – a great way for families to experience this seasonal attraction.

In 2025, more than 2,200 visitors from across Germany and neighboring countries were able to discover this special destination thanks to 13 dedicated helpers.
