Description

## Brief Summary

For some, it is a reunion with old acquaintances; for others, the discovery of an unknown world: a visit to the Ostalgiemuseum Kusey: Alltags-Erinnerungen in the Kusey district of Klötze.

## Description

There is no sign of shortage here. The exhibition in five rooms of the former post office building is filled with everyday items from the former GDR. Founder Meike Hesse-Prang began collecting memorabilia in the 1990s and was soon supported by many friends, acquaintances, and relatives. Today, the unique museum displays glasses, dishes, furniture, electrical appliances, books, and toys produced by the people’s industry. There are also memories from school days and holiday trips. The selection of typical GDR products ranges from beer to toothpaste. Naturally, medals and honors, flags, and portraits of the state leadership are also part of the collection. A paradise for browsing and (re)discovering.
