Palmengarten Frankfurt

Description
For more than 150 years, Palmengarten Frankfurt has enchanted its visitors with glass greenhouses and countless native and exotic plants.
In the mood for a desert trip, a jungle tour, or a journey through a mangrove forest? At Palmengarten Frankfurt, you can easily take a botanical trip around the world and stroll through the Earth's climate zones.
In the approximately 20-hectare park, everything that flora has to offer grows and thrives outdoors and in various greenhouses: delicate blossoms, lavish rhododendrons, spiky giant cacti, alpine herbs, and carnivorous exotics. And of course, the signature palms. Some mighty specimens are more than 100 years old.
Among the lush greenery, tours, exhibitions, and music events regularly take place. The garden’s showpiece is the palm house, opened in 1869, standing 18 meters tall and still one of the largest in Europe. Also worth visiting is the Goethe Garden, named after the city’s famous son, who, by the way, loved traveling and was a passionate gardener.
