Piratenspielplatz

Description
The large playground, covering 4,500 square meters, is located close to the DLRG station, beach volleyball courts, and the beach soccer field. The design of the Piratenspielplatz is based on the idea that pirates once ran aground at Lake Salzgitter. Their ship broke into three parts. The stern lies near the water, the mast with its crow's nest towers over this area, and the bow points steeply upward. A large dune was secured with a sturdy fence made of thick planks. On it stands a slide tower with two levels. The eleven-meter-long tunnel slide with a 5.5-meter height difference is the most attractive play equipment. Additional equipment is placed between the ship and the beach soccer field. Sand and water play devices have been created for younger children, along with a toddler climbing area. Since summer 2020, free Wi-Fi under the name "freeWIFISalzgitter" is available around the lake.
