Description

Riedener Waldsee, nestled between the Riedener Mühlen and the village of Rieden, covers an area of about four hectares and is fed by the Rehbach stream. Due to its historic spring near the vicarage, it is humorously called the "largest holy water basin in the world." Located in the Mayen-Koblenz district, the lake reaches a maximum depth of eight meters. Nearby are other lakes such as Laacher See and Heilbachsee. Riedener Waldsee offers ideal swimming conditions on sunny days, as the water meets EU bathing water standards. Two bathing jetties make entry easy, while sunbathing areas, children's playgrounds, barbecue spots, and a boat rental provide variety. A hotel-restaurant and sanitary facilities complete the offerings. The adjacent holiday park, surrounded by mixed forest and old beech trees, offers a peaceful retreat. The holiday homes cling to the slope of Schmalberg, inviting relaxing stays.
