Description

## Short Description

Museum Schiefes Haus

## Description

If the Leaning Tower of Pisa were as tilted as our "Schiefes Haus" in Wernigerode, it wouldn't be standing any longer. The "Schiefes Haus" in Wernigerode leans nearly twice as much as the world-famous tower in Pisa, with an angle of 7 degrees.

The house was built in its current form in 1680. However, back then it was not leaning. The building was constructed as a fulling mill specifically for the cloth makers' guild. The flow of the then-open mill ditch washed around the foundation walls. As a result, the east facade of the house sank, creating our "Schiefes Haus" in Wernigerode.

Today the house is used as a museum and gallery – come experience the "Schiefes Haus" and test your sense of balance. You are warmly invited.

## Arrival Information

The smallest house is located at the end of Marktstraße in the old town of Wernigerode.

## Fees

Admission to the museum and gallery is €2.00 per visitor.
