Description

As the dynastic castle of the Counts of Tyrol, the castle gave the region its name. Its construction dates back to the late 11th century. The history of the region is told from its beginnings to the present day. The two Romanesque portals are located in the south palas. The castle chapel of Saint Pankratius is built as a double chapel, and its Gothic wall paintings are significant. The keep presents the history of South Tyrol in the 20th century.
