Description
The Seilermuseum presents the centuries-old history of rope-making – indoors and outdoors – as a truly immersive experience. You can visit the living craft museum, where ropes are made daily on both old and modern machines.
New since 2023 is an outdoor ropeway that you can explore with an audio guide even without a tour. At various audio stations, you’ll hear eyewitness accounts about rope-making traditions.
A film clearly shows how rope production has fundamentally changed over time. For a special experience, there’s also a combo package with a guided tour and a meal at the adjoining Seilerhaus Café & Bistro 🍽️ – culture and cuisine combined.
The 2024 Handicraft History Award highlights the loving and detailed presentation of this fascinating craft.
