Spielplatz am Klangberg

Description
At the foot of the historically significant Klangberg, you'll find a family-friendly retreat. Klangberg, or the "Trümmerberg an der Etzoldschen Sandgrube," and the nearby park are a remarkable historic site that many people have yet to discover.
The name Klangberg comes from the sound-producing stone slabs on the plateau at the hill's summit. Their fleeting sound is meant to remind visitors of the demolition of the University Church of St. Pauli by the SED regime in 1968.
A visit to Klangberg is especially worthwhile with children aged 3 and up. There is a playground, ping pong tables, and a basketball court. The playground features challenging climbing equipment where kids can test their skills. There's also a slide and plenty of space for ball and tag games. Of course, a little adventurous hike to the summit of Klangberg with children is a great idea.
From there, you can enjoy a perfect view of the nearby Monument to the Battle of the Nations.
Two information panels clearly tell the story of Klangberg and its connection to the demolished University Church.
Not far from Klangberg is the popular sports pub "Schnittstelle 1845." It's worth stopping by here if you get hungry.
