Description

The Stadtmuseum Schongau is located in the former St. Erasmus hospital church – a significant exhibit itself, combining historic architecture with fascinating museum displays.

The exhibition offers a deep dive into the region's history: from the prehistoric and early history of the Schongau area, through archaeology, sacred art, and popular piety, to the town's history with a focus on guilds as well as social and legal history.

A special highlight is the coin cabinet, which traces the development of money from ancient times to the present and showcases the exciting discovery of the Schongau coin treasure. 💰
