Description

The Kutschenmuseum showcases more than 30 historic carriages and sleighs, lovingly collected and restored by Johann "Johnny" Hartmann. The exhibition features a variety of styles and eras from all over Germany, revealing the rich diversity of forms and craftsmanship from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Especially exciting: the carriages and sleighs are not just display pieces, but are still used for various occasions, highlighting their preserved character and functionality. Here you can find Gaiwagerl, chaise, hunting carriages, Victoria carriages, and landaus – each tells a story about past social customs and the lives of wealthy families.

The museum opened its doors in 2004 in a three-story building specially constructed by Hartmann. He personally restored every carriage, even those that were in very poor condition, ensuring the preservation of these historical treasures.
