Das Städtische Museum Göttingen is one of the oldest and most important city history museums in Lower Saxony. It displays around 150,000 exhibits showcasing life from the medieval period to today, offering you fascinating insights into various eras.
The centerpiece of the museum is the Hardenberger Hof, the last surviving aristocratic Renaissance palace in Göttingen – a special place that brings history to life.
The collection focuses on the 18th to 20th centuries, opening up rich historical perspectives.
Currently, exciting special exhibitions await you, such as “Everyone Loves Liesel?! – 125 Years of Göttingen’s Gänseliesel”, “Get on Your Bike! – Three Centuries on Two Wheels”, “Adam von Trott in Göttingen”, and “Postcards: Personal Greetings – Historic, Analog, Creative”. 🎨
The museum is currently being transformed into a modern city museum with social relevance, offering a wide range of cultural experiences for the whole community.
