Tiergarten Falkenstein

Description
Tiergarten Falkenstein was founded in 1953 as a "station for young naturalists." Located close to the city center, in a quiet, green area, this small family park features numerous outdoor enclosures and a small tropical house.
Visitors can see about 160 animals, including a brown bear, camels and donkeys, several large and small monkey species, prairie dogs, raccoons and coatis, porcupines, and many other interesting animals. Domestic farm animals are also showcased in a small farm area, where sheep, pigs, dwarf cattle, chickens, and running ducks are among the residents. Some smaller animals can even be petted and fed. Food is available for purchase at the park entrance. The tropical house is home to about 40 exotic animal species. A fun interactive highlight is "Leni von der Alm," an artificial cow that visitors can milk.
The city park with an adventure playground, or a sledding hill in winter, lies just nearby.
A snack bar with seating is located at the entrance area of the park. Restrooms are available in the building next to the wildcat enclosure.
Access to the park is via a turnstile with a ticket scanner or, for wheelchair users and those with strollers or wagons, through a swing door in the entrance area. The entire park is wheelchair accessible. Dogs are allowed only on a leash.
