Description
Tiergarten Hannover is a 112-hectare park with forested areas located in the Kirchrode district in the southeast of Hannover. Inside the fenced grounds, visitors can walk along paths among free-roaming wildlife. Tiergarten is one of Germany's oldest wildlife enclosures and was fenced in at the end of the 17th century as an exclusive hunting reserve. Since it opened to the public in 1799, it has been a popular recreational and excursion destination for the people of Hannover.
