Description
Schloss Trauttmansdorff near Meran, the former vacation residence of Empress Elisabeth of Austria ("Sissi"), is today home to an engaging experience museum: the Südtiroler Landesmuseum für Tourismus. Set in the middle of the Botanical Garden, it is the first museum in the Alpine region dedicated to the history of tourism in Tyrol. An exciting journey through time, through vividly staged rooms, tells 250 years of tourism history from the perspective of both travelers and hosts.
