Turmuhrenmuseum in Seehausen: Absolut zeitgemäß

Description
## Short description
The Turmuhrenmuseum moved into the lovingly restored building of an old brewery in Seehausen. Here, thanks to historical exhibits, you will learn what time it really is.
## Description
Even in times of cell phones and smartwatches, many enjoy seeing the exact time displayed on a church tower, town hall, or school. However, only a few know how much technology, mechanics, and precision go into such clockworks.
At the Turmuhrenmuseum in Seehausen, you can get an insight into the history of tower clocks from their wrought iron beginnings to the industrially produced clocks of the 20th century thanks to 85 exhibits. In addition to various manufacturing techniques, you will learn all about technical details and the most important producers of tower clockworks like Weule, Korfhage, or Rochlitz.
The collection is complemented by 25 standing and wall clocks for home use, including 18th-century grandfather clocks from the Seehausen clockmaker family Ottsen. All of this was lovingly collected and displayed by master clockmaker Günther Haut from Seehausen, together with many dedicated helpers and donors.
