Description

The idyllic Waldschwimmbad Kelze has been around since 1959, originally created from the fire pond of the Kelze volunteer fire department. The pool has been extensively renovated and invites you to enjoy plenty of swimming fun. The water is heated by solar thermal energy to a maximum of 25°C. Current water temperatures can be checked on the websites www.stadt-hofgeismar.de and www.kelze de. There are swimming pools for swimmers (large) and non-swimmers (small), a baby paddling pool, a slide in the small pool, outdoor showers, barrier-free entry assistance, sun loungers, playground equipment such as a children's swing, and a ping pong table. Dogs are not allowed in the swimming area.

The facility also includes the bistro at Waldschwimmbad Kelze – open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. – a summer terrace mostly shaded, a kiosk with take-away options, and a campsite as group accommodation for self-catering with a barbecue area.

TIP: The bistro, summer terrace, and kiosk are accessible without paying admission to the Waldschwimmbad! Well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed in these areas. There are parking spaces for cars and bike racks available. It’s also an ideal starting and ending point for great hikes around the Sleeping Beauty town of Hofgeismar in the Reinhardswald Nature Park. Reservations are recommended for groups in the dining area. From noon on, various schnitzel and pasta dishes are also available on the menu.
