Water playground Donauinsel

At the water playground on the Donauinsel, children of all ages can splash around, jump in pools, splash, form new shore areas out of mud, and dam and divert streams.

All water areas are so shallow that even non-swimmers can safely go on a journey of discovery.

Play brook

There are the following attractions at the big Spiel-Bach:

• Large wind turbine that promotes water
• Hill on which a stream springs, which falls over a waterfall into a pond
• 15 meter long suspension bridge over the pond
• Ship lock: Here the children can act out shipping traffic on the Danube.

Learn while playing with water

In addition to the creek for playing, there are several water toys. They encourage experimentation and show water phenomena. Information cubes explain the important role that water played in human development.

Small children's area and quiet zone

There is a fenced off play area for small children.

Furnishing:

• Specially assembled wooden play equipment for safe splashing
• Awning as sun protection
• Quiet zone with benches, tables and loungers
• Showers, foot showers and toilets

Tested water quality

The water for the playground equipment comes from the existing high spring pipe.

The Spielbach and the ponds are supplied with service water from the New Danube. This is regularly checked for bathing water quality.
