Description
From April to October – depending on the weather, tides, and availability – Wattenkutscher takes you by horse-drawn carriage to the Hallig Südfall. The journey passes through the Wadden Sea into the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. The Hallig Südfall is located in protection zone 1 of the national park.
During the summer months, it is inhabited by the tenant couple Erichsen, who take care of duties related to nature and bird conservation. Day visitors are welcomed by bird warden Gunda Erichsen and receive information about the Hallig, its history, and its wildlife. On site, guests can explore the Hallig, observe animals, and get to know the landscape – depending on current protection regulations and conditions. Homemade food is also offered. Souvenir packages can be purchased as keepsakes. The Hallig lies in the area of the former Rungholt, which is connected to the history and traditions of North Friesland. Hallig meadows are home to plants like Hallig lilac and sea asters. Which animals and plants can be seen depends on the season and current conditions.
The carriage ride lasts about 3.5 hours. Up to 50 guests can join the Hallig tour per day. Early booking is especially recommended for the summer months.
Please note: The carriage ride, your time on the Hallig, catering, and available offers may depend on the weather, tides, protection regulations, and the season. You'll find current information and booking options directly from Wattenkutscher.
Additional offers: Wattenkutscher also offers island tours by horse and wagon for up to ten people. If interested, please inquire by phone about dates, duration, prices, and availability.
