Description

We recommend comfortable shoes for your trip to this wildlife park, located in the Klein-Auheim district, about seven kilometers south of downtown Hanau. After all, you can explore 15 kilometers of hiking trails through the 107-hectare area of forests and meadows. Along the way, you can observe 35 native animal species living in a very natural and spacious habitat: wildcats and wolves, lynxes and otters, raccoons and wisents – the largest and heaviest land mammals in Europe, weighing nearly a ton.

It's worth taking a look at the program at the start of your visit, which features wildlife rallies, flight shows, guided tours, and daily wild animal feedings. A nice addition for those who want to learn more is the Hessian Forestry Museum located in the park. The exhibition provides information about the history of the forest and various professions connected to it. For children, there are several interactive stations that offer a hands-on experience of the forest ecosystem.
