Wolfsteiner Heimatmuseum im Schramlhaus
Description
A journey into the past awaits you at the Wolfsteiner Heimatmuseum im Schramlhaus in Freyung! Discover the city's oldest preserved farmhouse, built around 1700, which even survived the great market fire of 1872. Here, you'll immerse yourselves in the rural way of life of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Especially exciting for visitors of all ages are the working model exhibitions, which offer fascinating insights. Stroll through the museum garden and discover the theme path "Leben und Handwerk am Goldenen Steig", where seven information boards bring the history of the salt trade and old crafts to life. In the garden, there's also a restored Troadkasten from the year 1800 with historical photos.
A highlight is the award-winning "Tragekissen" exhibition, for which an original story is told. Also experience the working methods of bygone eras with functioning tools of historical trades such as lumberjacks, shoemakers, and coopers. An exciting adventure for the whole family! 🏡🛠️
