Guided tour of Landau's "Underworld" in the fortress tunnels at Lunette 41.

The Festungsbauverein Landau wants to give the many interested citizens and visitors of the city of Landau the chance to explore the underground tunnels in Savoyenpark and discover the historical background of the Vauban structures.

Every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. / last tour of 2026 is November 28, 2026

The tour starts at the French Gate. Meeting point is Obertorplatz by the information column for the Vauban Route. From there, the round trip leads to the fortress Lunette 41 in Savoyenpark, including an exploration of its impressive underground tunnels.

During the approximately two-hour walk, participants learn interesting facts about the history of Landau’s fortress and the fortress structures built by Vauban. The historical background and significance of these buildings are clearly explained.

Participation costs €10 for adults and €5 for children aged 6 to 15 years.

Children up to and including 5 years old and holders of the "Pfalzcard" guest card participate free of charge.

Sturdy footwear and durable clothing are recommended.

The tour is not wheelchair accessible and lasts about 2 hours.
