The Calwer Marktplatz with its wonderful historic backdrop is one of the loveliest places to get into the Advent spirit.

When the entire half-timbered ensemble shines in a romantic glow of lights and the scent of Glühwein and freshly baked treats drifts through the old town, strolling along the lovingly decorated Christmas huts becomes a very special experience.

Around the historic Marktplatz with its many half-timbered buildings, more than 80 atmospherically decorated stalls offer many attractive, festive items and special culinary delights for young and old to experience the magic of the pre-Christmas season in an especially romantic way.

As every year, the Weihnachtscafé opens its doors again this year and invites you to a contemplative pause with culinary and musical pleasures.

The unique experience of admiring the Calwer Weihnachtsmarkt from a bird’s-eye view will be possible at certain times from the Calwer Stadtkirche.

And an eventful, Christmas city walk with views from a high path over the romantically illuminated Marktplatz leaves a magical Advent atmosphere.

Following an old tradition, a social institution sells the delicious, freshly baked Bärentatzen at the Backhäusle for a good cause.

This year there is again the Calwer Springerle Model, which is available in a limited edition at the Touristinformation for 6 Euro.

Children are invited by the Engelspost to write their wish list to the Christkind, and cuddly Alpakas await the dear visitors nearby.

On all days, a contemplative, cheerful, and Advent-style supporting program on the Marktplatz provides atmospheric entertainment.

The Christmas market is traditionally concluded on the first Sunday of Advent in the Stadtkirche with the Klangrede.
