What happens when young people don’t just accept the world as it’s presented to them? This program tells stories about children and teens finding their own path – between conformity and resistance, insecurity and self-assertion, play and seriousness.

Whether in a forest state without police, on a motocross track, in the classroom, or at a gas station: the protagonists in this program can’t be easily categorized. They question, refuse, play, dream, and fight – sometimes against others, often against themselves. And maybe they show us that the world doesn’t always have to work the way they were taught.

The Kids Are Alright is a diverse program about growing up – and what happens when you start writing your own rules.
