But wait – something’s not quite right: water is splashing, people are washing at the basins in front of you, and brightly decorated walls rise high. On the city tour “Treverer Code,” you travel back directly to ancient Trier through the view of a VR headset.

Stepping out of the year 2023, the “Treverer Code” takes you on an exciting journey into the past. For the approximately 120-minute city tour, you receive a VR headset through which you can immerse yourself in life in ancient Augusta Treverorum at five different stations. There’s plenty to see: from the city’s beginnings, the construction of monumental buildings, to an audience with a genuine emperor. Surprises are practically guaranteed. Right on site, you’ll see the changes the city has undergone since 56 BC. A guide skillfully navigates your time travel and enriches what you see with additional knowledge and anecdotes.
