Badestelle Hamburger Hallig

The Badestelle Hamburger Hallig is located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea and offers a unique nature experience. The expansive green beach invites you to relax – with a bit of luck, you might even share it with a peacefully grazing sheep. From here, you enjoy an unobstructed view of the sea, while the groynes arranged for coastal protection shape the landscape.

The path to the Hallig alone is special. On foot or by bike (from April to October also by car with a toll), you reach the Badestelle via a causeway right through the nature reserve amid birdsong and sheep bleating. A lovely hike or bike ride (rental bikes available at the Amsinck-Haus) is guaranteed!

Green beach:

Let your soul unwind and enjoy the peace among the salt meadows. A beach tent provides shelter from the sun while the children can play undisturbed, fly kites, and discover the wildlife of the North Sea. The Badestelle is also the ideal starting point for guided mudflat walks for small and big explorers.

Refresh yourself by bathing, swimming, or splashing – thanks to the long bathing time, you can enter the water up to three hours before and after the tide.

At the Hallig-Krog on the Hallig, you can stop by and try regional specialties.

Another highlight is the interactive experience exhibit in the nearby Amsinck-Haus, offering fascinating insights into the nature and history of the region. For convenience, there are sanitary facilities and paid parking available.

Note:

From April 1 (except Easter, which falls in March) until October 31, you may drive a car with a toll fee of €6. After that, the Hallig can only be reached on foot or by bike. Please pay attention to the water levels or if "Landunter" (inundation) threatens during this time.
