Burg Hocheppan
Description
Burg Hocheppan was built around 1130 by Count Ulrich II and ranks among the most important fortifications in the region. It sits 636 meters above Eppan and offers breathtaking views of the Etsch Valley, the city of Bozen, and the Dolomites. Especially worth seeing are the Romanesque chapel with its exceptionally well-preserved frescoes and the striking five-sided keep, which stands 23 meters tall.

You can also discover the Wolfsgrube and the Kreidenturm, as well as the Burgweg, with 11 information boards on various topics related to the County of Eppan. The „Graf-Egnosaal“ is available for events and tells the eventful story of Count Egno of Eppan through nine panels.
