Description

Burg Reichenberg is a medieval castle complex dating back to 1319, featuring one of the oldest casemates in Germany, which shows architectural influences from Syrian crusader buildings.

The hilltop castle is located 230 meters above the Hasenbach Valley and offers an impressive view over the valley.

Burg Reichenberg is part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site and captivates with its fascinating history.

The famous medieval robber knight “Landschaden,” who was already mentioned by Victor Hugo during his Rhine journey in 1840, once operated here.

Since the 19th century, the castle has been extensively restored and preserved to ensure this historical gem remains accessible.
