Schloss Stolzenfels
Description
Schloss Stolzenfels is an impressive neo-Gothic castle and an outstanding example of Rhine Romanticism. It was built on the ruins of a medieval fortress from 1689 and was transformed into a romantic summer residence in the early 19th century by Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia.

For children and families, Schloss Stolzenfels is an exciting place to explore: medieval architecture with a well-preserved pentagonal keep, Gothic palace halls, and a chapel from the mid-19th century invite you to discover. In the large knights’ hall exhibition, you can admire real medieval armor and playfully dive into history.
Schloss Stolzenfels is part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site and impressively showcases its cultural and historical significance. A visit gives you a unique sense of history and romance along the Rhine. 🌿
