CityPark am Merkurareal

After just under a year of construction, the first area of the new park in the heart of the market town has now opened. A very special space has been created here that significantly increases the attractiveness of the city center. It offers a lot, especially for young families and sports enthusiasts. For the little ones, there is a large adventure playground with all kinds of play equipment, climbing opportunities, and facilities for playing with water and sand.

For teenagers and all sports fans, there is a parkour area. This trendy sport, originating in France, involves using only your own physical abilities to overcome obstacles as efficiently and gracefully as possible. At CityPark, you can jump, play, and train to your heart’s content. Courses and training programs are already being planned.

CityPark is also a perfect place to relax and unwind. Spacious green areas, accessible walkways, deck chairs and benches, as well as fruit trees and the uncovered Waldbrölbach stream, make the approximately 2,000 m² area a green oasis for young and old alike.

The completion of the entire facility is planned for 2026. Until then, the park will be expanded to include an event space, a connection to the CityRadweg bike path, a mobility station, charging options, as well as bicycle racks and parking spaces.
