Doras Garten

Doras Garten is a lively participatory and cultural garden where you experience nature with all your senses. Here, you can garden together, discover herbs, vegetables, and fruits on historic garden land, and even get hands-on preparing and preserving food.

The garden combines a productive kitchen garden with a biotope garden that creates habitats for endangered animal species. Native shrubs, flowers, and plants support biodiversity, while water spots, hedges, nesting sites, and hiding places provide shelter for insects, birds, amphibians, and small mammals.

You can explore Doras Garten on a marked circular path that showcases various habitats like meadows, forests, ditches, and ponds, offering a fresh perspective on nature. Additionally, the gardeners provide a phenology-based planting calendar that shows the best times for planting and gardening.

The garden is a creative and experimental space where the joy of shared activities takes center stage – perfection is not the goal here. Families will find many animal- and nature-friendly tips, such as how to build nesting boxes and shelters for small animals in their own garden. 🌿🐞
