Description

The Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrum offers you an exciting permanent exhibition that provides insights into the life, work, and impact of Erich Maria Remarque – focusing on his experiences in war and exile as well as his dedication to peace and humanity.

Every year, several temporary exhibitions in the foyer change on historical, literary, and social topics related to war, peace, exile, and Remarque’s era and environment – great opportunities to reflect on current issues.

Especially interesting for school classes are the workshops and projects that connect literature, history, and society and encourage you to think and discuss on your own.

A highlight is the world’s largest collection dedicated to Erich Maria Remarque: manuscripts, letters, photos, first editions, translations, and extensive secondary literature await you here.

The center conducts research and offers extensive programs on war and media in the 20th and 21st centuries – covering literature, film, radio, theater, photography, and art.

Guided tours, workshops, and educational programs help make understanding easier and promote dialogue about history and responsibility.

The Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrum invites you to reflect on history, critically question the present, and develop new perspectives for the future. 🕊️
