Glasmuseum Frauenau
Description
The Glasmuseum Frauenau invites you on a fascinating journey through the world of glass – from ancient times to the present day. Over 1300 m² of exhibition space feature historical glass artworks, modern architecture, and diverse art.
Changing special exhibitions by international artists complement the permanent collection and always offer new impressions. For children and families, there is a varied and playful-interactive educational program that makes glass come alive.
A special highlight is the digital virtual museum with exciting knowledge and discovery stations, puzzles, and activities specially designed for families. Children and teenagers can creatively explore culture, history, craftsmanship, art, and design related to glass.
The friendly ghost figure Durandl guides young visitors through the children’s area – both on-site and online. During school holidays, the museum offers seasonal workshops where kids can try activities like paper light magic, autumn glass paintings, Halloween crafts, or bead workshops.
Sunday tours also give families the chance to discover the world of glass art and its fascinating history together.
