Description

The Museum im Fressenden Haus – Burgkasten Weißenstein awaits you for an exciting journey of discovery! 🏰 Its unusual nickname 'Fressendes Haus' was given to it by the writer Siegfried von Vegesack – a humorous allusion to the high maintenance costs of this historical building, which already served as a granary around 1100.

Completely redesigned in 2023, the exhibition offers fascinating insights into knightly life at the castle, its exciting construction history, and how it became a popular attraction. Discover original artifacts such as chainmail rings and armor fragments, as well as interactive media stations that bring history to life for you.

A special highlight is the 360° film 'Flucht in die Wälder'. It tells a true story about the rebellious spirit of Siegfried von Vegesack and takes you on an immersive journey. In addition, regularly changing special exhibitions await you on the second floor. The museum is a great destination for the whole family and for young explorers of all ages! 🔎
