Description

The Grabungsmuseum im Kirchhof showcases the fascinating foundations of a former 13th-century Benedictine provostry as well as a medieval cemetery with tall graves.

You can also explore parts of the medieval city fortifications and numerous finds such as pottery, toys, household items, jewelry, and coins that were uncovered during excavations.

The museum presents the construction history and documents the excavations of the eastern Kirchhof quarter through artifacts and a reconstruction plan. Since 1994, the exciting excavation results have been on display here.

Newly designed information panels, an audio guide, and a brochure were created from a school project and make the medieval discoveries especially vivid and engaging for you.
