Description
Großer Garten in the Herrenhausen district of Hanover is one of the most important Baroque gardens in Europe. The garden area, enclosed by a moat, forms the historic centerpiece of the Herrenhäuser Gardens, which also include Berggarten, Georgengarten, and Welfengarten. The rectangular layout covers an area of 50.2 hectares. The planning was originally based on Schloss Herrenhausen, built in the 17th century.
