Visit the new Hexendorf* at the Hexentanzplatz in Thale!!

See and experience a village full of quirky wooden creations, shops, dining options, a tourist information center, and the Hexenturm.

On September 25, 2024, the newly built Hexendorf at the Hexentanzplatz in Thale was officially opened. Visitors can now look forward to a colorful market village offering a selection of culinary delights and souvenirs. Around 13 vendors offer regional products including street food, soft serve ice cream, beer from the Wernigeröder Braumanufaktur, specialty coffees, wild game sausages, products from the Harzer candy manufactory, wines and liqueurs, as well as jewelry, fire pits, and wooden toys.

The colorful little houses of the Hexendorf were lovingly designed and built by Künstlerische Holzgestaltung Bergmann and are now a central part of the new concept.

There is also a new branch of the Bodetal Information with adventure toilets, the Hexenturm, play areas, puzzle stations, sculptures, and some fun extras that are true eye-catchers, warmly inviting you to visit and linger.

Bodetal Tourismus GmbH, the operator of the Hexendorf, will continue to enhance the Hexendorf concept with further small and large events.

*Planning for the major project "Renovation, Modernization, and Reconstruction of the Hexentanzplatz with Mountain Theater" with a total budget of around €27 million started back in 2017. The mayor of Thale, Maik Zedschack, expressed his thanks at the opening, especially to the Minister of Economic Affairs Sven Schulze, for the extensive support from the state of Saxony-Anhalt. From May 2025, the large project will conclude with the modernized and expanded Harzer Bergtheater Thale. You can already find the current schedule here.

During the Saxony-Anhalt school holidays, Hexendorf is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Outside the holidays, it is open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (valid until the end of March).
