Description

The Hohenheimer Gärten cover more than 30 hectares, making them the largest part of the University of Hohenheim campus in Stuttgart. The oldest section, the Exotic Garden or Franziska’s Village, was established in 1776 by Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg and Franziska von Hohenheim. Today, the Hohenheimer Gärten are home to around 3,000 tree and shrub species as well as numerous monuments and artworks spanning four centuries. More than 150 trees are over 100 years old. The Hohenheimer Gärten are open year-round, all day long, free of charge, and are managed by Helmut Dalitz.
