Jüdisches Museum Augsburg Schwaben
Description
The Jüdisches Museum Augsburg Schwaben is housed in two historic synagogues and showcases Jewish life in Augsburg and Bavarian Swabia through a permanent exhibition. Visitors can experience one of the most beautiful synagogues in Germany.
The former synagogue in Kriegshaber, the oldest preserved synagogue building in Bavarian Swabia, serves as a special museum location and was the center of Jewish life from the 18th to the 20th century.
The museum offers a diverse program with guided tours and workshops for groups and school classes, as well as city and cemetery tours – ideal for families and children.
It actively engages with current social issues and highlights Jewish perspectives – an open place for encounters and learning.
Cultural highlights include special events such as the Jewish Culture Week Augsburg Swabia as well as thematic readings and lectures, for example "Young, Jewish, Angry" with Hanna Veiler.
